The AW16 Velvet Edit

10/ 10/ 2016

As the seasons change so do the fashion trends, and this season the IT fabric for AW16 is velvet.

With its soft luxorious texture and unique smooth feel, velvet has been an exceptional hit this season in many forms.

The garment characterists are created when loops are formed during the weaving process, creating a pile weave on one side of fabric. This gives it the unique plush velvet texture it is famously known for.

In true GNK fashion we have jumped on the bandwagon with the following velvets that are sure to make some headway on the highstreet this season.

Traditionally worn during the fall and festive season, velvet has always been synonymous with luxury and elegnace.

Most popular in the form of evening and formal wear, dresses can be given a beautiful drape effect whilst adding a lavish touch to formal wear.

As seen on the catwalk this AW16, velvet does not need to be worn in plain form. Just like the above, velvet can look equally stunning with additional elements of glitter, nylon dots or embossing.

With it being such a hit this season, you’re sure to make a statement during the wintery months, especially during the festive season.
